MissMeliss

MissMeliss didn’t have store-bought clothing until she was ten because her mother, who gave up a Regent’s Scholarship to FIT to have her, made everything she wanted. Finally, though, the demand for “real jeans” ended that trend, though she was in her twenties before she realized that not everyone’s mother could copy the latest style from Whomever, on a whim.

MissMeliss, sadly, did not follow her mother’s example and while she can hem and sew buttons, her Pfaff mostly sits in a closet gathering dust.

Instead of fiber arts, then, MissMeliss slings words. Since fleeing the mortgage industry last year, she’s become a freelance writer, currently under contract to an SEO firm, which she loves because not only does she get to work at home in her pajamas while watching endless reruns of previous Project Runway seasons, but she also gets paid to blog, as well as running three or four blogs of her own.

When she isn’t writing, MissMeliss can be found performing with the Dallas branch of ComedySportz though she’s currently on hiatus while she finishes her first saleable novel (no, really).

She has pink hair, an incurable addiction to caffeine, and far too many pairs of shoes for a woman whose work can (and often is) done without leaving bed.
