Project Runway: Week 1
These observations are from everything before the runway elimination. Since there are 15 designers, they don’t get a lot of air time, and these are the ones who made impressions with me.
And now for a ‘more’ cut, so that there’s no spoilers.
So much hate. HATE HATE. He’s a prissy little know-it-all bitch, and seriously, he bugs the hell out of me.
Fun, knows he’s a big boy, laughs well at himself. Isn’t taking this too seriously this week.
Made of HAWT. Not much of a personality, but crazy fun to look at.
So much less attitude than I expected. I found myself really liking her.
A whole lotta yawn. For real.
I think she wants to be this season’s Jeffrey, attitude-wise. That being said, she probably won’t go as far.
Oh, gurrrrl. You say you’re straight, fine, we’ll believe you. Cut it out with the ‘I’m a MANLY MAN!’ thing. You design women’s clothes. Not the butchest thing in the world. Likes himself a lot.
Much more awesome than I expected. Best line of the show: Someone said, “Did you see his ass?” Jack pipes up, “I’m in the room, people…”
MADE. OF. CRAZY!
Andrae, there’s no crying on Project Runway!
Love
Chris: That dress was so much more fabulous than you were given credit for. So awesome. Great cut, great fit, amazing colors. Contender.
Rami: BEAUTIFUL. Classic. Greek goddess meets Manhattan. Lose the Angela Rosette. Ew.
Carmen: OMG, a pants outfit!! FABULOUS!! So much with the fabulous! Atta girl!
Not Bad
Kevin: Nice
Simone: Cute, but a little on the boring side
Jillian: So much better than expected. Props for the awesome color and technique.
Ricky: Fun!
Jack: CUTE dress. Very well done.
Marion: Bad hem, but overall a cute outfit.
Steven: Another one that was better than expected.
Yucky
Elisa: OMG, like Heidi said, it looked like her dress was pooping fabric. Yuck. Great blue, but the rest of it was nasty.
Sweet P: Ew.
Christian: Boooooring. And Nina’s insane. The silhouette was vile.
Victorya: Maybe it was the makeup, but that entire look just seemed disastrous.
Kit: Yucky.
As a side note, for having their choices of $50,000 worth of fabric, we only saw about 20 different fabrics on that runway. I was disappointed, overall, with the usage of the fabrics.
IN

OUT

Next week looks to be a team challenge, and it looks like Jack gets made to cry. That makes me cranky. He’s a nice guy, it seems. This is gonna be a good season.
